To walk in the footsteps of ancient Chinese travellers, Dian Xiao Er is the place to visit with its rustic and raw ambience inspired by nature. Customers can expect to experience a choice of dining ambience varying from dining inside a traditional Chinese inn to dining inside a rustic timber shed at the foot of a stone cliff. Looking very much like the set of a kung-fu film, the environment complements the freshness of the herbal roast ducks which are prepared and roasted in the display kitchen daily. To infuse an exotic cacophony of flavors into the specially bred ducks, they are first marinated in a myriad of herbs and spices for hours. They are then roasted just right such that the skin is crisp to the touch and golden brown in appearance while the flesh remains tender and bursting with juicy herbal goodness. Grouponites can choose from 3 delicious options: Duck Roasted with Angelica Herb, Duck Roasted with Ten Wonder Herbs or Duck Roasted with Wild Ginseng.

Embark on an epicurean journey down the well travelled road, because sometimes, classic recipes are just too great to be replaced by ridiculous monikers like the Singaporean Merduck or turducken.

Reviews:
Dian Xiao Er has won prestigious awards such as the Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2007 and received media mentions in publications such as AsiaOne Business, 8 Days and iWeekly.
"The double-boiled wintermelon and conpoy soup was savory sweet; and its house specialty, the ten wonder tonic duck—so named because of the ten kinds of Chinese roots and herbs in it—did not disappoint at all. Marinated and roasted to perfection, the duck was flavorful and juicy, oozing herbal goodness with every bite." - I-S Review
"The main specialty of this mid-priced restaurant chain is the herbal roast duck. You can choose from 3 types of herbs — Angelica herbs (Dang Gui), Ten Wonder herbs or wild ginseng. The Ten Wonder herbs are basically a combination of ten herbs that include Codonopsis root, Chinese Foxglove root and licorice root. The herbs are supposed to promote longevity and soothe the mind. Feeling stressed? You know what to eat! Apart from the obvious health benefits of the herbs, the duck meat is tender, juicy and soaked in the most delicious sweet sauce. Even for someone that prefers chicken over duck any day, this dish remains deeply enjoyable. Bonus: The thin crispy skin!" - Sparklette Review
"This DXE speciality never disappoints… EVER… I just can never get enough of the duck!! Excellent!!" - passingmomentos Review
