The Deal

Start off meals with decadent appetizers such as the Capesante e Gemberi ($24), which consists of Pan Seared Prawns on Semi Sundried Tomato Puree and Scallops on Onion Confit. Or gulp down a hearty Covelli Zuppa di Funghi, the restaurant's very own Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup with White Truffle Oil ($14).

 
 
Satisfy cravings for meat with the Quarantotto ($32), their 24-hour slow braised beef short ribs which boasts scrumptious melt-in-your-mouth bites served with Truffle mash.

 

 
Pizza lovers will delight in the Covelli Supreme Pizza ($18), a thin crust pizza layered with homemade tomato sauce, basil, oregano, black olives and tuna flakes held together by shredded Mozzarella cheese and topped with a scrumptious sunny-side up egg. 

 
Be rewarded for one's love of pasta and seafood with a Pasta al Frutti di Mare ($30), a thoroughly seafood-indulgent dish of slipper lobster, prawns, calamari, scallops and mussels and clams served with your choice of linguine, spaghetti, tagliatelle, penne or fettuccine.

 


Close the feast with a Lychee Champagne Panna Cotta ($10), or a homemade traditional Italian Tiramisu topped with shaved Chocolate ($10). Alternatively, celebrate the culinary achievements of the Italian masters with a unique-tasting Honey and White Truffle Gelato ($6).

   
The restaurant’s spacious and luxurious interior, coupled with dim mood lighting, make for a cosy hideout for comrades-in-arms to unwind to a bottle of wine from the restaurant’s well stocked wine bar, which features more than 50 wines from Italy, Australia, France and Spain.

The starter of Pan seared Prawns on Semi Sundried Tomato Puree & Scallops on Onion Confit topped with Avruga Caviar Lemon Butter ($23) is a memorable one. Freshly juicy prawns with semi-sweet puree work perfectly together, with the caviar adding a touch of class. I liked the Orata Con Pasta Stoglia, with Sea Bream Fillet wrapped with crispy hyllo on Butternut Pumpkin Mash topped with Tomato Salsa ($26). While biting into the fish, there is a paper-thin crisp giving it a layered and varied texture, with the mash nicely complementing and not overpowering the main."

Possibly my most favourite dish of the evening. The beef short ribs was oh-so melt in the mouth! Every sliver of meat off my fork hardly required any chewing. The flavours were well retained too. The 24hrs of slow braising definitely did not go to waste! If I return to Covelli, it would be a difficult choice for me between the Truffle Ravioli or this beef short ribs."
