The Deal

Theatre-goers will relish this much-anticipated restaging of the heart-warming play based on the true story of Maggie Lai, Singapore's most famous transsexual. As curtains rise on Bugis Street, Singapore’s cross-dress-Mecca, audiences enter Maggie’s arena, ride her sequined heels over to Johore Road, catch her feathered ferry to Changi Village and drown in her lip-stick Martini at Desker Road. Witness the exploits of the lavatory cruise addict who transforms into a hairdresser, masseuse, transvestite, transsexual, stripper, prostitute and movie star all in the blink of an eye. This bareback Freak Show is wilder than Big Cats, higher than the Flying Trapeze, more versatile than Contortionists and definitely hotter than the hottest Fire-eaters.

Presented by the multiple award-winning theatre company Toy Factory Production, written by local lauded playwright Goh Boon Teck and directed by Rayann Condy, the updated version of the play features exhilarating trapeze acts and aerial silk performances woven into the story.
